Welcome to my blog.  I’ll give you a brief idea of who I am and invite you to head over to my website if you need a little more information.  I’m busier now that I’ve been back in Atlanta for a few years, with a big thanks to all my wonderful clients here, so I’m trying not to be so long winded…

The short story is I grew up in Georgia and moved to California right after I graduated from Agnes Scott.  I stayed away for 22 years, living in the Bay Area, Los Angeles and Vancouver BC, before making my way back South.  I must say, I’ve never looked back.  I loved my time away, but it gives me even more appreciation for Atlanta and the people who live here.

I started my photography career back in ‘94 when shooting went hand in hand with hours in a darkroom.  I sometimes miss the magic, but I definitely don’t miss the smell or the natural limitations on the number of images one could manage to process and print.  I was an early Photoshop adapter and love the flexibility it allows for wedding photography.  I started my career shooting documentary photos with some portraiture on the side.  When I decided to move into photographing weddings, it was a fun and easy transition to make.  I now look at my work as shooting the good news in someone’s life rather than the suffering that often comes with documentary and editorial photography.  You hear people say it a lot, but it is an honor to photograph such an important day in someone’s life.  And the cool thing is, I do it week after week and because it’s new to the couple, it becomes new to me at every wedding.
