We shot Amanda and Matt’s engagement shoot at the totally great venue they’re using for their wedding in January. I have to give the venue a little plug here as it’s truly unique and wonderful. It’s called the River Mill Event Centre and it’s in Columbus, GA. Granted that’s a bit of a hike for most Atlanta couples (about 1.5 hours), but if you’re looking to trim your guest list to just the people who really want to see you get married as opposed to those who will come if it’s convenient, you should check it out. It’s an old converted mill on the banks of the Chattahoochee with exposed beams and brick, hardwood floors and massive floor to ceiling windows. They’ve done a stunning job turning it into an event facility and it’s also my understanding, although I haven’t eaten his food, that the chef who owns and caters the events is quite wonderful. It’s very large and will hold any size wedding you can possibly imagine. I’m looking forward to Matt & Amanda’s wedding there in January!

Jenifer & Brandon both work with Le Man’s in different capacities (in fact, that’s where they met and where Brandon finally broke Jenifer down after some charming badgering and got her to go out with him. She’s clearly glad now as they make a totally cute couple.) As a result, we shot their engagement shoot at Road Atlanta, where Jenifer works. It was so fun! Having driven too fast most of my life, I got a thrill walking on the raceway imaging the drivers flying over the hills and around the curves. They also brought Chloe, their Yorkie, and as anyone knows who has visited my house, I have a soft spot for dogs. They’re getting married in December, so watch the blog later this year for their wedding photos!

Another Atlanta rainy wedding day miracle! I’ve had a lot of those this year. Megan and Jim had a 70% chance of rain going into their wedding day and it didn’t rain a drop. The Druid Hill’s Country Club was prepared with a nice looking tent overlooking the golf course for the ceremony and the reception was in their lovely ballroom. Congrats Megan & Jim! It was a great day.
